Participants will learn how to impact their own growth to be more effective in your company’s operating environment, leading to more productive work teams, and achieving bottom-line results.
LeadAdvantage uses validated assessments, business simulations and case studies to initiate self-development efforts by participants. These methods help them to recognize patterns of behavior professionally and personally, so that they can effectively compensate for counter-productive actions and strengthen behaviors that enhance team communication and performance.
DAY 1:
PARTICIPANT INTRODUCTIONS
CONSENSUS BUILDING FOR EFFECTIVE DECISION-MAKING
• Participants engage in a dynamic and highly interactive activity to develop an understanding of how:
o Collaboration improves the quality of decisions, encourages diverse thinking and builds trust and mutual respect
within the team
o Projects and tasks can be achieved with a higher level of predictable success by incorporating a “blueprint” for
results
WORKPLACE BIG-FIVE PERSONALITY PROFILE (Part 1)
• Participants will complete the WorkPlace Big-Five Personality Assessment which will reveal how personality factors
influence their leadership patterns
LUNCH
WORKPLACE BIG-FIVE PERSONALITY PROFILE (Part 2)
• Participants use the validated Five Factor Personality Model to identify the basic personality tendencies that
influence their management and leadership behavior. By focusing on personality traits, participants can clearly
address the opportunities to adjust and improve their leadership qualities and skills.
BALANCING AND MANAGING CONFLICTING PRIORITIES
• Balancing individual, team and company priorities can be challenging and difficult. Participants work as a team to
confront a task that requires the completion of both an individual and team goal. Participants will address:
o The benefits of trade-offs associated with individual achievement versus company success o Working under project deadlines and other work-related pressures
PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR; IMPACT AND INFLUENCE
• Participants will be provided an in-depth study and profile of the seven management and leadership patterns of
behavior. Participants will understand how to:
o Identify each pattern, including strengths and weaknesses, motivations and traits
o Develop a more productive and effective working relationship with others
o Strengthen communication
o Resolve conflict and achieve win-win resolutions
o Match individual styles with compatible roles and responsibilities to improve performance
DAY 2:
PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR; IMPACT AND INFLUENCE (Continued)
REDUCING BLINDSPOTS AND FACADES: COMMUNICATION
• Participants will be provided a framework for strengthening communication with employees, colleagues and
managers, as well as, methods and techniques for improving the quality of information exchanged and shared
with others. Skills developed:
o Communication that maximizes productivity and effectiveness
o The ability to adapt communication to different patterns of behavior
o What communication reveals…and what it doesn’t
LUNCH
CASE STUDY IN LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
• Participants will recognize how different management styles can benefit or disrupt an organization. Divided teams
follow a structured format to identify and address managerial issues. During the discussion and facilitation,
participants reflect on how to recognize and respond to these types of issues and challenges, and also how their
style of management may impact and affect others.
ETHICS AND LEADERSHIP
• Participants will engage in a highly participative and challenging task that requires both competition and
cooperation. They will experience how sometimes in our effort to individually compete and succeed, we can lose
sight of our real competition. Honoring commitments and building trust with one another promotes a competitively
healthy and successful environment. Participants will gain insight into how:
o To maintain a healthy competitive spirit, while realizing cooperation remains basic to accomplishment
o Misinterpretation of an action can result in the same outcome as a deliberate action
o To minimize misunderstandings in our dealings with others
DAY 3:
LEADERSHIP PATTERN ASSESSMENT (LPA) RESULTS
• Participants will be provided confidential results on their individual behavioral style (surveys completed prior to
session by each participant and their associates). This feedback will include both their primary, as well as their
back-up style (that which we move to when under pressure or more adverse conditions). Participants will also
review and analyze their leadership pattern in ten areas of management, such as: Responding to a crisis,
Handling conflict, Feedback, and Awareness of others.
IMPROVING THE PROBABILITY OF SUCCESS
• Establish a winning formula for self-development based on the LPA results
• Implement realistic action plans and objectives that impact achievement
